Former Motherwell defender Paul Quinn is in talks to join Hibs until the end of the season.

The right back has been training at East Mains and could be in the squad to play Dumbarton on Saturday.

Quinn has been looking for a club since leaving Doncaster Rovers at the beginning of the season and the 29 year old would provide cover and competition for David Gray who was injured against Rangers at Ibrox last week.

Lewis Stevenson was forced to play on the right side against Raith Rovers on Saturday and whilst the ever reliable utility player performed well, the change contributed to Hibs failing to expand on their two game winning streak.

Quinn played 180 games for Motherwell before joining Cardiff City in a £300,000 deal five years ago. He spent three years at Cardiff before joining Doncaster in 2012.

Meanwhile tickets go on sale today for the League Cup quarter final tie against Dundee United at Easter Road on Wednesday 29th October.
