Police Scotland is appealing for witnesses following a fatal road collision in West Lothian. The incident happened around 8.10am today on the A801, one mile north of the Boghead Roundabout. An HGV lorry overturned and collided with a number of other vehicles. Emergency services responded and the male driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people involved in the collision sustained minor injuries. The A801 remains closed southbound at the Heatherfield Roundabout. However, traffic continues to flow freely northbound from this location. Enquiries are ongoing into the full circumstances surrounding this incident and any motorists who were on the road at the time and can assist Road Policing Officers with their investigation is asked to come forward immediately. During the ongoing severe weather, motorists, particularly those driving high-sided vehicles, are advised not to travel and delay any journeys until conditions improve.
