Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following an assault in the city centre.

The incident happened around 3.30am on Sunday (8th December).

The victim, believed to be  29-year-old Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale co-manager Fraser Ogilvie was walking on Rose Street when a group of males approached and assaulted him.

The suspects are described as Asian appearance, all wearing dark clothing and one was wearing a turban.

Detective Inspector Carol Craig from Police Scotland said: “Thankfully the victim was not seriously injured during this incident however is understandably shaken up.

“We are keen for any information that can help us trace the suspects, and would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any other information that can assist our inquiries, to contact police immediately.”
