Hibs striker Mykola Kuharevich hopes that his first goal for the club since he rejoined on loan earlier this month can be a springboard for further success this season.

Big Myko got on the end of a Martin Boyle free-kick to reduce Celtic’s lead and give the travelling fans some hope.

But a defensive mix up in the second half gifted Celtic a goal which would end the game as a contest.

Speaking after the final whistle to Hibs TV the striker said: “It is always good to score goals, especially against a team like Celtic and at a Stadium like Celtic Park.

“But we didn’t win the game, so it was a different feeling.

“It is an important goal for me and it will give me confidence going into the next games.

“We have to work hard this week, refocus on the next game and give our fans a positive result against Dundee next Saturday.”

Despite his goal Hibs Kuharevich admitted it was a frustrating afternoon.

He added: “We are disappointed, it is a tough result for us. We conceded poor goals at the start of the game and we need to be better in those moments.

“It is what is, we need to keep going and make sure we improve.

“It is always hard when you start a game like that and concede early goals. We have to work on this period of the game for sure and make sure we learn our lessons for next time.”
