Josh Pickering recorded a superb 15-point maximum as Stellar Monarchs edged Glasgow Tigers after a Superheat in a BSN Series thriller at Ashfield.

The Aussie (pictured) won all five of his races to steer the visitors to victory and move a step closer to qualifying for the semi-finals of the first major competition of the season.

The visitors were 15-9 behind after Heat Four but battled back to lead 25-23 after Heat Eight.

Monarchs held a slender advantage until Tigers levelled in Heat 12 but Monarchs won the next race 4-2 only for Glasgow to level again at 42-42 in the next heat.

It was 3-3 in Heat 15 taking the scores to 45-45 and forcing this tight tie into a Superheat and Monarchs took the honours in a close finish.
