The Myreside team lead the championship chase by five points with both sides having played 13 matches.
Keith Smith’s title holders have won all their 13 games, scoring 79 goals and letting in six. Sam Judge’s squad have won 11 of their matches and lost only one, scoring 77 goals and shipping nine. They drew 1-1 with Grange Edinburgh Ladies at Fettes and that was their only other blemish.
The pair are way ahead of the rest with Clydesdale Western third in the top six with 27 points from their 13 outings.
Watsonians warmed-up for the clash with a 3-1 win at Grange Edinburgh Ladies while the students, who also have several international players in their squad, thrashed Western Wildcats 6-1, also at Peffermill.
And Smith’s squad edged the students 3-2 at Peffermill earlier in the campaign.
