POOLE put Glasgow to the sword as they sealed their place in the SGB Championship play-off final in emphatic fashion, writes Bryan Copland.

Needing just 31 points from the second leg of the semi-final – following Wednesday’s 60-30 win in Dorset – the Pirates racked up 50 at Ashfield on Sunday to win at a canter.

The injury-hit Tigers could only muster 39 points as the visitors were 110-69 victors on aggregate.

The result means Poole face Leicester in the final, with Glasgow missing out on silverware again despite making the play-offs every year since 2015.

Glasgow went into the match without Ulrich Ostergaard and Danyon Hume – both out through injury – then lost Tom Brennan halfway through the meeting after a crash.

The Tigers have one final league meeting to complete – the rain-affected away match at Plymouth, which will not impact on any final placings. That takes place on Tuesday (October 4).

Cami Brown’s men are also due to compete in the final of the Jubilee League against Leicester and Poole with details to be confirmed.
