The BBC reported on Sunday that two men, both aged 34, have been charged in connection with an alleged assault of a heckler in Edinburgh last month.

The 22-year-old man who shouted at the Duke of York as he walked behind Her Majesty The Queen’s coffin was brought to the ground in footage shared on social media at the time. He was later charged with breach of the peace.

The two older men have been charged after allegedly pulling the younger man to the ground.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Two men, both aged 34, have been arrested and charged in connection with assault, following an incident on the Royal Mile around 2.50pm on Monday, 12 September 2022.
“A report will be sent for the consideration of the procurator fiscal.”
