The Scottish Federation of Sea Anglers (SFSA) host the Cod Open on Sunday, March 15 with boundaries from Carnoustie to Ferryden.

Registration is at the toilet block of Vicky Park from 8.30am until 9am with fishing from 10am until 3pm. Entry is £15 and SFSA size limits apply. Everyone leaves at 9am to go to their marks.

The SFSA also host their Spring Open at Riverside Drive, Dundee, on Saturday, March 28 with mackerel and lugworm baits only.

This event is limited to 60 pegs and is pre-booking only and no entries will be accepted on the day. Pegs are going fast.

Meanwhile, Derek Anderson confirmed that Sagittarius would sail this weekend from Eyemouth.

The boat run by Aquamarine Charters has been confined to dock because of bad weather for three weeks.

Meanwhile, over 40 anglers have anglers have so far registered for the Bass Rock Shore Angling League open pegged match on Belhaven Beach in East Lothian on Sunday, April 12.

A total of 80 pegs are available and it is pre-booking only.
