The public have been warned not to approach a man who absconded from a psychiatric hospital.
Paul Brownlie, who suffers from schizophrenia, went missing the Royal Edinburgh Hospital on Wednesday October 3 and hasn’t been seen since.
He was originally detained following a knife attack in Tranent when he was 17.
He is described as being 6ft 1in tall, with a medium build and short brown hair and was wearing denim jeans, green T-shirt, white jumper and navy blue trainers when he escaped.
A Scottish Government official said: “We are keen to trace this man as soon as possible. Although he is not considered to be a high risk of harm, the public are advised not to approach him.”
If anyone sees him, or has any information regarding his whereabouts, they should contact Police Scotland on 101.
