Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Bathgate which took place at the junction of Bridgend Park and Glasgow Road between 7.15am and 7.30am on Friday 5th October.
A 60-year-old woman got off a bus on Glasgow Road, and began walking south on Bridgend Park.
She became aware of two people walking behind her, before a man tried unsuccessfully to grab her handbag.
She was able to get away and attended St Johns as a precaution.
Detective Constable Grant Ross of Livingston CID said: “This was a very distressing incident for the woman, who was just trying to make her way to work at the time.
“As part of our ongoing enquiries, we’re urging anyone who may have been in the area and who could have seen either the incident or the suspects to contact us immediately.
“We’re particularly eager to speak to any motorists who may have any dashcam footage or cyclists with cameras that were travelling in the area at this time.”
Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 0633 of 5th October, or report this anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
