Scottish Cup Final, second-leg: Edinburgh Monarchs 50, Glasgow Tigers 40 (agg: 90-90). Monarchs win the race-off and take the title.

Ricky Wells powered from the gate to regain the Scottish Cup for Edinburgh Monarchs in a pulsating Final second-leg.

Wells left Paul Starke in his slipstream and rode an immaculate four laps to take the silverware after the sides were locked at 90-90 on aggregate after two-legs.

Glasgow won the first-leg 50-40 and Edinburgh returned the same score in the return.

It took fired-up Monarchs until the second-last heat of the final to level on aggregate at 84-84.

Then, Wells and Monarchs skipper Erik Riss took first and second place for a 5-1 against Chris Harris and guest Richard Lawson.

The sides drew 3-3 in the second-last race to set up a last heat decider.

Tension grew and Riss was warned after an unsatisfactory start in the final race with all four riders invited back.

And Paul Starke won the heat with Riss second and Wells third for another 3-3 pushing the final into a race-off.

Wells and Starke were nominated as pressure mounted and it was the New Zealand-born Wells who shot out of the gate to claim the title.
