Annual art exhibition 19-21 October
St Columba’s Hospice invites art lovers to its annual art exhibition, from 19-21 October at The Edinburgh Academy in Stockbridge.
Over 120 of Scotland’s most renowned artists and emerging talents donated works to this year’s fundraising event.
The Art Friends of St Columba’s Hospice Exhibition is now in its 32nd year. It offers art collectors the chance to pick up a unique selection of contemporary painting, sculpture, print and jewellery.
Exhibitors include established artists such as Scottish landscape painters Chris Bushe and Linda Park, and figurative artist Stephen Mangan. One of the highlights includes a piece by celebrated Scottish artist David Michie, kindly donated by his daughter in his memory.
Jackie Stone, CEO, said: “We’re delighted to bring our Art Friends exhibition back for its 32nd year and to welcome Lindsays as the lead sponsor. It’s one of our most successful events and goes from strength to strength each year. We’re overwhelmed by the generosity of all of the artists submitting work – it’s great to be able to showcase the range and diversity of Scotland’s creative talent, under one roof.”
David Dunsire, member of Lindsays’ Charities Team and Hospice Governor, said: “We’re proud to get behind such a wonderful local cause and event. The exhibition is a great platform for artists across Scotland to display their work and raise money for the Hospice. We hope the fundraiser is a big success and that people across the capital will drop in to see what’s on offer.”
There is sure to be something for everyone and this year, ‘Art on a Postcard’ offers guests of the exhibition an affordable way to snap up artwork by the featured artists. Each mini artwork will be sold for £50 and the artist will remain anonymous until purchased.
The exhibition is free for all to attend and offers art lovers a wonderful way to support the hospice with a portion of every sale being donated. The event has raised over £350,000 for St Columba’s since it launched in 1986.
