Richie Worall powered to 13 points as GlasgowTigers took control of the Championship Shield with a comfortable road win at arch rivals Edinburgh Monarchs.

He was backed up by in-form Claus Vissing in the 48-41 win.

Glasgow fans celebrated and Worrall said it was difficult early on but added: “We came good in the end.”

Skipper Eric Riss top scored for the home side with 11 points and Ricky Wells claimed ten.

The home side led by two points after Heat Four but Glasgow hit back to level in the next race and then never looked back.

Disaster struck the home side when Mark Riss and disappointing Joel Andersson both skidded out of Heat Nine.

And former Gradn Prix star Chris Harris won the heat with his team-mate James Sarjeant second to put Tigers 30-23 ahead.

When Monarchs’ skipper Eric Riss, who had won his three previous racers, hit the fence in Heat 13 it was virtually all over.

And ex-Monarchs racer Claus Vissing, who has been in fine form this season, confirmed the win with a victory in the next race.
