The Eric Liddell Centre in Edinburgh has become the latest recipient of a public access defibrillator through a St John Scotland project.
Over 130 life-saving defibrillators have been placed across Edinburgh and surrounding areas since the inception of the scheme last year.
John MacMillan, chief executive officer of the Eric Liddell Centre, said: “Hopefully, we will never have to use the device but having it here is extremely reassuring as it could save somebody’s life.
“We have placed it close to the main entrance and all our staff have been trained in how it is used.”
Lynn Cleal, fundraising chair of St John Scotland’s Edinburgh committee, said: “Defibrillators are incredibly easy to use and could prove critical in an emergency.
“We would encourage everyone to visit our website, www.stjohnandthecity.org, where you can watch a video demonstrating just how easy it can be.”
