Hibs’ popular midfielder Marvin Bartley says that there is no excuse for throwing away a two goal lead at home, especially since both goals conceded to Motherwell were avoidable.
Over 17,000 fans created a tremendous atmosphere inside Easter Road and Hibs took a two goal lead thanks to a penalty and a wonder strike from Anthony Stokes but the visitors fought back and on-form striker Louis Moult scored twice to secure a share of the points.
A draw as probably a fair result as both teams had chances to win.
After the game Bartley told Hibernian TV: “Being two goals in front we should have gone on to win the game but the two goals we conceded were avoidable and that’s what hurts us the most.
“If someone hits a 25-yarder into the top corner you can accept that.
“We’ve drawn the game so from that point of view it wasn’t enjoyable and no disrespect of Motherwell but we were two goals up so we shouldn’t be drawing game like that. It’s highly frustrating.
“They are a very good team but we are a good team also. We’ve brought in players of a higher quality than we had in the Championship and there are no excuses for throwing away a two goal lead in the manner we did.
“There is a feeling that we should have won our last three games but we haven’t, we have drawn all three and we have to put that right. We collected three points instead of nine.
“We have a game against Livingston coming quickly so we have to get our minds on that game.
“Ross County next week will also be a difficult game but we have to go there and get a win.”
