The Parsons Peebles Monarchs have been forced to change their line-up for Friday’s home joust with Berwick Bandits because of World Cup commitments.

Sam Masters has been called up by Australia to replace crocked Berwick Bandits rider Nick Morris.

Ricky Wells will also be in action in Poland after captaining USA to the World Cup race off.

Rory Schlein and Justin Sedgmen take their places and both have Premier League wins to their credit with Monarchs.

Edinburgh’s co-promoter Alex Harkess said: “Being without Ricky and Sam will make things tricky but we must win our home matches.”

Bandits may be bottom of the table but cannot be discounted with Glasgow Tigers skipper Aaron Summers drafted in to replace Morris.

Experience of seasoned campaigners Kevin Doolan and David Howe can score points around Armadale and there is also the threat of former Monarchs racer Jye Etheridge at reserve.

And Joe Jacobs looking to show everyone they were wrong to leave him out at the start of the season.
