An interesting leaflet has arrived on email advertising free fishing instruction for beginners, existing anglers or a returner to the sport.
Thirty minute sessions with a coach can be booked on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 from 11am to 4pm at the canal near Glasgow Angling Centre.
They are being run by Get Hooked on Fishing (GHOF) and The Angling Trust at Saracen Street, Glasgow (G22 5HT).
To book email heather-lauriston@ghof.org.uk and the leaflet said: “Are you a beginner, an existing angler or returner who would like to be introduced to fishing, learn a new tactic or want to brush up on long-forgotten skills?
“If the answer is yes to any of the above then why not come along to our of our Family Fishing Fun Days.
“All sessions are free with fishing tackle provided and instruction from our licensed coaches.”
The leaflet added: “Nothing beats the feeling of catching your first fish.”
