Police are appealing for witnesses following an act of wilful fireraising at a caravan parked the driveway of a property in Birkenside, Gorebridge which was set alight around 8.40pm on Sunday evening.
Thankfully, no one was in the caravan at the time and no one was injured as a result of the fire.
Detective Constable Kenny McKenzie of Dalkeith CID said: “Wilful fireraising puts the safety of all those in the area at risk and requires emergency services who could be assisting elsewhere.
“Anyone who may have seen suspicious behaviour in the area around this time is urged to come forward immediately.
“Likewise, anyone with information which can help with our investigation is asked to get in touch.”
