2011_10 Police signs 6

Police are investigating following a fatal road traffic collision on the A6094, approximately 1/2 a mile south of Rosewell.

The incident occurred last night  at around 10.40pm when a BMW motorcar collided with a Triumph Bonneville motorcycle and sidecar.

The 64-year-old male rider of the motorcycle and his 59-year-old female passenger were sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 26-year-old man, who was driving the BMW, was treated for minor injuries.

The road was closed for period of time while enquiries were conducted, however the road has since reopened.

Police are now appealing to the public for information.

Inspector Richard Latto from the Road Policing Unit said:  “This collision sadly resulted in the death of two people and we are eager to gather as much information as possible.

“Anyone who was on the A6094 on Thursday night and saw either of the two vehicles involved is asked to contact us immediately.
