A police investigation is underway after a 29-year-old woman was attacked in an attempted carjacking in Dechmont.
The woman was driving her Vauxhall Corsa west along the A89 on Monday afternoon when a woman flagged her down near the Old Bangour Hospital.
When the motorist rolled down her window to speak to the woman, she was hit in the face and a man tried to get into the passenger door, which was locked.
The driver left the scene and contacted police, who are now urging other road users to be vigilant.
The female suspect was white, around 5ft 3in with tied-up brown hair.
She was wearing a blue hooded top at the time of the incident.
The man was wearing a dark jacket. Police do not have a clearer description.
“Nevertheless, she was left extremely shaken as a result and we are pursuing various lines of inquiry to trace both suspects. Anyone who has information that can assist with our inquiries is asked get in touch.”
