Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the Gorgie/Murrayfield area of the city which took place around 5pm on Sunday within Murrayfield Sports Bar on Westfield Road.
A 43-year-old man was punched to the face and taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The suspect is described as white, 6ft tall, of muscular build and in his thirties.
He had blonde/ginger hair, which was shaved at the sides, tattoos on both arms and was wearing a yellow t-shirt and jeans.
Detective Sergeant Robbie Wallace of Corstorphine CID said: “We’re still working to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident, and would urge anyone who witnessed this to get in touch.
“Likewise, if anyone recognises the description of the suspect I’d ask them to contact either us or Crimestoppers immediately.”
