Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery which took place around 12.35am on Monday in West Pilton Place.
Two men forced their way into a property, threatened and assaulted the occupier, before stealing a three-figure sum of money.
A 57-year-old man received minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
The first suspect is described as white, 6ft tall, with a heavy build and in his thirties.
He was wearing a black hooded top, a black scarf or face covering, blue jeans and black trainers.
The second suspect is described as white, 5ft 6inches tall, of medium build and in his twenties.
He was wearing a royal blue hooded top, and a black scarf or face covering.
They were last seen heading in the direction of Crewe Road Gardens.
Detective Constable Kevin Walls of Corstorphine CID said: “I want to reassure the community that we’re currently treating this as an isolated incident, but that there will be an increase in patrols in the area over the coming days.
“We’d urge anyone who may have seen the men described, or who has any information which can help with our investigation, to contact either police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”
