Police are appealing for witnesses following two break-ins and thefts in Midlothian over the weekend.

Officers in Bonnyrigg were contacted at around 9.20pm on Sunday (August 7) after entry was forced to a metal container and wooden shed on Grove Farm.

During this incident, a quantity of power tools and riding helmets were stolen.

Officers were then contacted at around 10.25pm on the same day after a shed in a field located between Mayfield and Vogrie was broken into.Various tools and riding saddles were stolen from within.

Inquiries into both of these offences are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Sergeant Michele Lindsay from Penicuik Police Station said:

“At this time, we’re working to establish if both incidents are linked and anyone who believes they may be able to assist with our investigation is asked to contact police immediately.

“I would also request that anyone who saw any suspicious activity around Grove Farm in Bonnyrigg or on farmland between Mayfield and Vogrie over the past few days get in touch.”
