Hibs’ new signing Conrad Logan says that he is jumped at the chance to join the Club and insisted the decision to move to Scotland was a ‘no brainer’.

The experienced goalkeeper came through the ranks at Leicester City, but has spent much of his career on loan to Stockport County, Luton Town and Bristol Rovers

In addition, he has experience playing at Wembley in the League Two Play-Off final for Stockport, and has a Championship winners medal from the 2013/14 season with the Foxes.

The signing comes in the wake of first choice keeper Mark Oxley being suspended for the William Hill Scottish Cup semi-final against Dundee United however Head Coach Alan Stubbs insists that Logan was not brought in for just one game and he will provide vital competition until the end of the season.

Speaking to Hibs TV, Logan said: “I’m delighted to join, I’m looking forward to the last couple of months of the season and hopefully it can be a successful time.

“I’m well aware of how big a club this is in Scottish football and  club steeped in history and once the chance of a move came about it definitely interested me.

“It’s a lovely stadium and the facilities here (at East Mains) are second to none and better than some top English clubs. It’s a fantastic place to come and work.

“It was something that I was willing to do straightaway. I’ve been back training for the last couple of weeks, and once the approach was made it was a no-brainer for me.

“It’s a big club and I knew it was going to be decent facilities. It’s a good squad and a chance to work with the manager, so it was something that really interested me. I got the call one day and I was up the next morning.

“Obviously I have been around for a while now. I’ve been at Leicester for a long time and I’ve had relatively successful spells at loan clubs so I think I have a wealth of experience and I’m looking forward to the challenge here.”

Head Coach Alan Stubbs said: ” Conrad has a huge amount of experience first and foremost.  we didn’t want to find ourselves in a position where we went to the semi-final if something unfortunate was to happen to one of the keepers it would leave us with a real predicament. It was an option to bring Conrad in and once we knew there was something in it we wanted to progress it and conclude the deal

“Conrad comes in not just to provide cover for that game but also to provide competition from now till the end of the season for all the keepers.”
