Police have issued the following travel information for Hibernian and Ross County supporters travelling to Hampden Park in Glasgow for the 2016 League Cup Final on Sunday 13th March.

People attending events at Hampden Park should be aware that the area around the stadium is mainly residential and there is very limited parking for private cars.

On event days, Police Scotland would advise people to use public transport to get to the stadium, if not travelling by organised coaches/buses.

Additional carriages and services run both pre and post event, with Mount Florida and Kings Park train stations being a short walk from the stadium.

If you do take the car, please be aware of Glasgow City Council Parking Controls – Event Day Parking Zone – which affects streets near to Hampden Stadium and will come into force during relevant, well attended events:

The Queens Park Recreation Ground, Queens Drive, Glasgow, may be available for parking of private vehicles at a cost (subject to a pre-match day inspection).

Coaches

These are the Police Scotland recommended routes for patrons attending this event. Any deviation from these routes may resort in increased traffic congestion adding to your inconvenience.

Ross County supporters:

M8 Westbound: Exit the M8 at Junction 22 and join the M77. Leave the M77 at Junction 1, Dumbreck Road, turn left onto Dumbreck Road and continue until the junction with Titwood Road (high vehicles such as double deck buses – turn right, Haggs Road, turn left Shawmoss Road, turn right Titwood Road) continue Titwood Road.

Turn right onto Minard Road, continue onto Langside Avenue to the roundabout (Monument). Take the second exit at the roundabout onto Battlefield Road, continue on Battlefield Road to the first traffic light junction and bear right remaining on Battlefield Road to the ‘T’ junction with Cathcart Road.

Turn left onto Cathcart Road and take the immediate right onto Letherby Drive, where your coach will be directed to park. A car park pass will be required for entry; those without a pass should utilise on street parking where available.

M80 Southbound: Join M8 Westbound and continue as above.

M74 Northbound: Continue from the M74 onto the M73 and thereafter onto the M8 Westbound and continue as above.

M8 Eastbound: Exit at Junction 24, Helen Street, turn left onto Helen Street, continue to the roundabout and turn right onto Edmiston Drive at the next roundabout turn right onto Broomloan Road, continue through the junction onto Dumbreck Road and continue as above.

A77/M77 Northbound: Exit at Junction 1, Dumbreck Road, turn right and continue as above.

After the event, vehicles should follow the reverse of the above routes where possible.

Hibs’ supporters:

M74 Northbound: Exit the M74 at Junction 1A (Polmadie). Turn left onto Polmadie Road, continue to junction with Aikenhead Road, continue south onto Aikenhead Road, stay in the right hand lane and continue through the junction with Prospecthill Road where your coach will be directed to park in the ‘purple car park’ on the right.

A car park pass will be required for entry; those without a pass will be directed to park on Calder Street after exiting the M74.

M74 Southbound: Exit the M74 at Junction 1A (Polmadie). Turn right onto Polmadie Road and follow the above route.

M80 Southbound: Exit towards M73 Junction 3 (Mollinsburn) and continue south. At Junction 1 join the M74 north and follow the above route.

M8 Eastbound: Continue on the M8 to junction 1 of the M74, (offside lane). Exit the M74 at Junction 1A (Polmadie) and follow the above route.

A8 Westbound: Continue onto the M8 to Junction 8 (Baillieston) and join the M73 southbound. Thereafter take the offside lane to join the M74 and follow the above route.

After the event, vehicles travelling via the M74 northbound should follow the reverse of the above routes where possible.
