Hibs’ on-loan midfielder Liam Henderson has praised John Hughes’ Inverness Caledonian Thistle side for the way they play football combined with their hard working attitude ahead of tomorrow’s William Hill Scottish Cup quarter final at Easter Road.
The youngster has become a fans’ favourite since his summer move from champions Celtic and he has become a regular starter in the first team helping the club to a League Cup Final and second place in the Championship.
His ‘never say die’ attitude was won the hearts of the supporters and he is looking forward to hearing the Proclaimers blaring our after the final whistle as it did at the end of the last round.
Speaking to Hibs TV he said: “Hibs are expected to win every game and obviously the last three games have been disappointing but the cup game on Sunday is a welcome distraction and we are looking forward to it.
“Inverness are a proper football side and John Hughes has got them playing some lovely stuff and they work really hard as well so it’s shaping up to be a really good game.
“The boys are looking forward to the game. Obviously we’ve been working hard all week and it should be an exciting game and hopefully the fans turn out in their numbers and get right behind us.
“The Hearts’ game in the last round was the first time I had played in a first team derby and it was a great experience for me and especially ‘Sunshine on Leith’ at the end which gave me goose bumps.
“I’ve played in the Scottish Youth Cup, I’ve never won it to be fair. I’ve played in a few cup games for Rosenborg and I played in the Scottish League Cup final with Celtic last year.
“All of that stands me in good stead for Sunday, and I’m really looking forward to hopefully playing.
“We are going out to play for the fans as we do every week and to give our all and hopefully put on a good show and get the win “
