Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault and robbery which took place around 12.30am on Sunday in Regent Road Park.
A 29-year-old man had been out with friends and was returning home, making his way from South St Andrews Street, past Waterloo Place and onto Regent Road.
As he entered the park at Regent Road Park, two men approached and grabbed the victim before presenting a bladed weapon.
The victim was then robbed of a small sum of cash from his wallet.
At this time a struggle ensued and the man fought off both suspects, sustaining a small cut to his hand in the process.
He returned home and reported the matter to police later that day.
Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their investigation to come forward.
Both suspects are described as white, between 25 and 30-years-old, average height with skinny builds. They were wearing dark clothing and spoke with Scottish accents.
Detective Constable Andy Cory said: “This incident left the victim shaken, though, thankfully, not seriously injured.
“As part of our ongoing inquiries we are urging anyone who was in Regent Road Park in the early hours of Sunday morning and remembers seeing anything suspicious to contact police immediately.
“We would also ask that anyone with any further information that can help us identify those responsible gets in touch.”
