An 18 year-old man was last seen on Lady Lawson Street at around 6 o’clock in the morning and Edinburgh Police are now appealing for help in tracing him.
From there he travelled to Waverley Station where he boarded the 6:55am train bound for King’s Cross Station in London. He carried a blue rucksack and holdall however it is not clear at this stage whether Peter went to London or disembarked at an earlier stop.
He has not been in touch with family or friends and police are now seeking the assistance of the public.
Peter is described as white, 6ft tall, slim build, pale complexion, brown hair, which has a slight wave and is normally swept to the side. At the time of his disappearance he wore a dark blue hooded top with white and red writing on the front and a red/burgundy T-shirt underneath.
An extensive investigation is now underway in an effort to trace the teenager as quickly as possible.
Inspector David Cuthbert who is leading the investigation said: “Peter’s disappearance is completely out of character and we are concerned for his wellbeing.
“His family are obviously worried and we are doing everything we can to support them at this difficult time and to find Peter as quickly as possible.
“A thorough and robust investigation is underway utilising a number of specialist Police Scotland resources and I am now appealing to the public for their help.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who might have spoken to Peter on the train or who remembers seeing him. Those with relevant information are asked to contact police immediately on 101 or speak to any officer.
“I also appeal to Peter directly to please contact police or a family member to let us know that you are safe.”
