Police are looking to trace two suspects in connection with an on Wednesday night, September 30.
The incident happened at around 6:45pm when a 35-year-old man was walking his dog on Corstorphine Hill.
The man entered from Balgreen Road and had made his way around 300 metres up the path when two men approached him from behind. They proceeded to barge into him before snatching his mobile phone from his hand.
Both suspects wore dark clothing and were last seen making off towards the summit of Corstorphine Hill.
The victim was unhurt and did not require medical treatment.
Police are now appealing to anyone who has information about this incident to come forward.
Detective Constable Gavin Howat who is leading the investigation, said: “Corstorphine Hill is a popular destination for walkers and given the mild weather conditions on this particular evening I would expect there to be a number of people in the area.
“I am today asking anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity in or around this location or who has any relevant information to please come forward immediately.”
