Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the Sighthill area of the city.
The incident happened at around noon today (Wed) on a pavement near the post office and pharmacy on Calder Park.
A man in his early 30’s was approached from behind by another male who struck him in the head before fleeing the scene on foot across the park in the direction of Calder Grove or Crescent
The victim sustained injuries to his head and was taken by ambulance to Western General Hospital where he is currently being cared for.
Police are keen to trace the suspect as quickly as possible and are asking for the assistance of the public.
He is described as a white male, aged between 30 and 40 years old, he has a slim build and was possibly under the influence when carrying out the attack. He was wearing a striped blue and white polo shirt and blue jeans.
Detective Sergeant Graham Grant of Police Scotland said: “I would ask anyone who was in the area of Calder Park around the time of this attack and who noticed any unusual behaviour to please contact the police on 101 or, alternatively information can be passed anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
