Police have released CCTV footage of four suspects they wish to trace in connection with an enquiry into two serious assaults in the Newhaven area.

The incidents occurred at around 1am on Sunday, May 31, outside a public house in Laverockbank Road.

A 34-year-old and a 28-year-old woman were assaulted by three men and one woman.  They both suffered serious facial injuries and subsequently sought medical attention.

The first suspect is described as white man in his thirties.  He has a medium build, is around 5ft 10″ in height and has a bald or shaved head.He also has a heart tattoo with keyhole thereon tattoo on right forearm.

The second suspect is a white man in his thirties.  He is around 5ft 11″ in height with a heavy build, has short dark hair and was wearing a dark jacket.

The third suspect is also a white man in his forties with a slim build. He was wearing a light coloured shirt.

The forth suspect is a white female with a medium build and is around 5ft 6″ in height.  She has long back hair and was wearing a black jacket.

Anyone who can assist police with their enquiries is asked to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Robert Richardson said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack, which has left the victims with significant injuries.

“The people within the CCTV footage are of interest to our investigation and anyone who recognises them is asked to come forward.

“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to these incidents should also contact police immediately.”
