The owners of the Edinburgh Scarf Shop that was robbed by a man and woman wearing balaclavas on Saturday night have appealed to the public to assist the police in tracking down the culprits.

Director Lully Gold said: ‘We would like the members of the public who may have witnessed anything immediately before or after the incident from outside the shop to contact the Police. These dangerous opportunist thugs need to be caught before they do this again and someone gets hurt. Our member of staff was really frightened and shaken up by this dreadful experience and thankfully she wasn’t harmed’

The pair were last seen entering Blackfriars Street in the direction of the Cowgate.

The man had a slim build and was wearing a dark balaclava, a black hooded jacket, black tracksuit bottoms with a light-coloured patch near to his pockets, black trainers, black gloves and carrying a black holdall.

His female accomplice wore a bright red balaclava and had a medium/chubby build. At the time of the robbery she wore dark tracksuit bottoms with a blue strip down its side, and black trainers with white stripes and a white motif on the heel.

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
