Police in Midlothian are appealing for witnesses following a theft from a business premises on the A6094 near Rosewell which took place some time overnight between Tuesday, February 17, and Wednesday, February 18.
Thieves forced entry into a shed on the property and took a STIHL petrol strimmer.
A green and yellow John Deere ride-on lawnmower, model X135R, was also taken.
Officers are now urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.
Inspector Andy Toombs said: “We suspect that the thieves may attempt to sell these items on and we are eager for anyone who may have seen the stolen items, or who knows where they are, to contact us immediately.
“We would also like to respectfully remind members of the public to be vigilant when buying second hand items and not to hand over any money without seeing the legitimate paperwork and proof of ownership first.
“Always contact police if you have any suspicions about a seller or an item.”
