Police have issued a fresh appeal for information to help trace an Edinburgh teenager who has been missing for over a week.

Emma Mooney, 15, was last seen in the Moredun area of the city on Thursday 5th February at around 12:30pm.

Police and social workers from the City of Edinburgh Council are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare.

Emma is described as white, 5ft 4in tall with shoulder length dark hair. She was last seen wearing light blue skinny jeans, Nike Air Max blue, white and grey trainers, and a dark coloured body warmer with a fur hood.

She is also known to have strong links in the Edinburgh and Fife areas.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who can assist them with their enquiries.

Area Commander Chris Scobbie from Police Scotland said:“It has now been eight days since any confirmed sightings or contact and we grow increasingly concerned for Emma as do the Social Work Department and her family.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen Emma, spoken to her or indeed knows were she may be.

“Emma is 15 and has been missing for over a week, people are worried about her, and my officers and I, working with our partners are doing all we can to bring her home safely, if you can help in doing that then it is time to assist.Please contact police immediately on 101 or anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
