UPDATE – MISSING WOMAN FOUND SAFE AND WELL
Police in Midlothian are growing increasingly concerned for welfare of a woman who has been reported missing in Lasswade. Anne Cunningham was last seen within Drummond Grange Nursing Home in Kevock Road, Lasswade last night (Thursday, January 30) at around 8pm.
Police have worked throughout the night to find Anne. Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue, police dog handlers and helicopters have all been deployed but she remains missing.
Anne is 75-years-old and is described as a white woman, around 5ft 3” tall with a slim build. She has short grey hair, which is swept back from her face. She is believed to be wearing a blue top, dark trousers and black shoes. She has not taken her own coat with her and is not appropriately dressed for the weather.
Anne lives with the advance stages of dementia and can be very confused. However she is also relatively mobile for her age.
Due to her condition, officers believe Anne may still be in Lasswade area of Midlothian. However she previously lived in the Davidson’s Mains/ Ferry Road area of Edinburgh and may have travelled to this part of the city.
Inspector Andrew Hill said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Anne’s welfare and we are appealing to the public for any information regarding her whereabouts.
“It was very cold last night and Anne is not dressed appropriately for the weather conditions. It is essential that we trace her as soon as possible. If you have any information please contact police immediately on 101.”
Anyone with information regarding Anne’s whereabouts is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
