Police have released images of a man they wish to trace in connection with a serious assault in the Cowgate, Edinburgh on Easter Monday, April 21 2014.
The incident occurred at around 3.15am when a 26-year-old man was assaulted and sustained serious injuries which required hospital treatment.
Detectives are keen to speak to the man pictured within the CCTV footage. He is described as tall, white, of heavy build with medium length blond – brown hair with shaved sides. He was wearing a checked grey/light blue and white short-sleeved shirt with dark bottoms.
Anyone who recognises the man shown in the images is asked to contact Police Scotland.
DC Christopher Harding said: ” The victim suffered a painful facial injury as well as a fractured collar bone, during an unprovoked attack whilst on a night out with friends.
“The man pictured is believed to be of significance to our investigation and anyone who can assist in tracing him is asked to come forward.
“Similarly we would ask this male to get in touch with police himself and help with our investigation.”
