Three people have been arrested and charged after police in Edinburgh recovered Class A drugs in the west of the city.

Officers carried out a search of an address in Gorgie Road yesterday (Thursday) and seized around 600 grams of cocaine from within along with various other items that linked the occupants to serious and organised crime.

A subsequent search of another property in Gorgie Road resulted in £1,150 in cash and items associated with drug distribution being recovered from within.

Two men aged 40 and 28 and a 31-year-old woman are all scheduled to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today (Friday).

The total value of the cocaine seized during this activity is around £29,000.

Detective Sergeant Gary Reid said: “Once again, vital intelligence from the public has allowed police to seize large quantities of cocaine before it could be distributed within the community.

“We are committed to identifying those involved in serious and organised crime and associated offences such as the distribution of drugs and bringing them to justice.

“Anyone with information relating to ongoing criminal activity in their local area can contact Police Scotland on 101 or make an anonymous report through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
