Police are appealing for witnesses after an armed robbery at the Royal Bank of Scotland at Home Street Tollcross. The incident took place around midday and officers are currently on the scene.
There is a police cordon outside the bank and Thornybauk is closed.
Detective Inspector Stuart Harkness said: “Police were called to a report of a robbery at RBS in Tollcross, Edinburgh at 12pm today.
“A number of armed men entered the building and demanded cash.
“No one was injured during this incident, however this was a frightening and intimidating experience for the staff and members of public at the branch.
“Enquiries are continuing and anyone with information should contact police on 101 immediately.”
