A 22 year old man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Dalkeith yesterday.

Around 5am on Monday 25th August officers in Midlothian police responded to a report of damage being caused to a house in Woodburn Drive, Dalkeith.

A crime scene was established and the area was cordoned off to allow enquiries to be carried out.

The 22 year old man is appearing at Edinburgh Sheriff Court today.

Police Scotland is appealing for anyone who may have seen a male wearing dark clothing who was cycling a dark frame bike and carrying a white rucksack, in the Woodburn area in the early hours of Monday 25th August, or who has information that could assist the enquiry to phone 101.
