A 15-year-old male has been arrested and charged in connection with a racist attack in Edinburgh last weekend. This follows a police appeal for witnesses after a 41-year-old Polish man was attacked in Niddrie House Square on Sunday 16 March.

Sergeant Kevin Smith said: “We are pleased to say that police received a good response from the public following an appeal and a significant witness came forward. Inquiries are still ongoing but officers are following a positive line of enquiry to trace the others involved.”

A report will be sent to the Scottish Children’s Reporter.
