Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following an assault at a nightclub in the City Centre in the early hours of Friday morning (20th December.)

The incident happened just after 3am on the dance floor at Espionage in Victoria Street when a male was hit in the face with a glass and then suffered a dislocated shoulder following a disagreement.

The suspect then left the nightclub via the Cowgate entrance around 3.25am. He is described as white, aged in mid 20s, 5ft 8in tall, slim build, long ginger wavy bowl-cut style hair, short stubble, wearing a navy blue woollen Christmas jumper with a white pattern, dark trousers and dark shoes.

Detective Constable Rich Johnston from Police Scotland said: “This reckless action has resulted in injuries that will leave the victim with permanent scarring. We are keen to trace the suspect and ask that anyone who witnessed this assault on Friday night, or recognises the description of the suspect, should contact police immediately.”
