Boroughmuir High School was evacuated this morning after a bomb threat.
The call was received at the school at 7.25am from a person claiming that there was a bomb in the building.
Officers from Police Scotland attended and cordoned off the scene before carrying out an extensive search of the premises.
Roads in the vicinity of the school were closed and pupils in S1 S2 S3 S4 pupils are currently being accommodated in St Oswald’s and Bruntsfield Primary School.
Pupils in S5 and S6 were sent home and asked report to the Dominion cinema 12:00 for a planned trip.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh attended at Boroughmuir High School at around 7.25am this morning following a suspected hoax call.
“The main school building is currently being searched, with pupils being accommodated in an annex building. The school remains open and there is no risk to pupils, staff or members of the public in the area. It is anticipated that pupils will start to return to the main building during the course of the morning.
