Stolen truck and plant hire equipment, Edinburgh
Edinburgh police are investigating what might have happened to a lorry which was stolen from a yard in Newbridge Industrial Estate yesterday along with its load of plant hire equipment.
The Scania lorry, registration MV02 SNU, was stolen from the premises occupied by Ecosse Sports around 5.10pm yesterday.
The vehicle was carrying various items of plant hire equipment, including a yellow JCB mini excavator, a green Avant 420, a yellow JCB Vibromax roller, and a white Bobcat Skidsteer.
In total, the value of the stolen lorry and equipment is approximately £100,000.
The truck is described as a blue and white flatbed Scania, with ‘Ecosse Sports’ livery visible on the cab.
PC Mhairi Mitchell, from Police Scotland, said:- “The vehicle was stolen from the yard at Newbridge Industrial Estate around 5.10pm yesterday, by someone who rammed through the gates in order to make their escape from the premises.
“At this time we are appealing to anyone who may have seen the vehicle being driven on the motorway yesterday evening, or who has any information regarding its current whereabouts, to contact police immediately.
“Anyone else who has any information that can assist our inquiries should also get in touch.”
