The road between Bonnington Road and Junction Place has been closed due to an on-going police incident, and drivers should avoid the area if possible.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police in Edinburgh responded to a road collision, which happened around 11.50am in Great Junction Street.
“A female pedestrian was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries after being involved in a collision with a motorcycle.
“The male rider was also taken to hospital and enquiries are on-going into the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
The investigation is likely to take some time and witnesses should contact Police Scotland on the non- emergency number 101.

I was there at the scene, feeling the females pulse and controlLING The roads. I hope both of them are okay.
