Hibs striker Kieron Bowie was buzzing at full time after his late goal helped secure a vital three points against Dundee United last night.
It looked as though the points were going to be shared at Tannadice in what was a hard-fought encounter, but the team showed a clinical edge and snatched all three after Bowie and Junior Hoilett found the back of the net in the closing stages.
The 3-1 victory meant Hibs leap-frogged Dundee United and moved up to fourth in the William Hill Premiership Table, one point behind Aberdeen in third.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Bowie was delighted with both the result and his contribution.
“Honestly it is hard to sum that up – it is just a whirlwind, to be honest. I played on Saturday and made my first start for the Club and I have just been trying to make an impact when I’ve come off the bench. I am glad I managed to do that again tonight!
“It is a big thing for me to get that first goal since returning from injury, that has just helped take the weight and the pressure off my shoulders.
“We’ve beaten Celtic on Saturday, then come to Tannadice and got another win so that shows the character that we have as a group. We’ve got the Edinburgh Derby on Sunday now; the lads are all looking forward to it and hopefully, we can keep this run going.”
Bowie’s goal in the final minute of the 90 sent the 2,000 travelling Hibs fans wild and the striker admitted it was a special moment.
“It meant a lot to me to score tonight in front of the away fans. I was just trying to hit the target, thankfully I did that and it went in.
“It is a cold Wednesday night, so to bring that many fans is incredible and we thank them for all their effort and for travelling.”
