A 50-year-old man has been arrested in connection with drug offences in Edinburgh city centre. 

The arrest took place following reports of drug related activity at Hunter Square on Monday 18th November. 

Officers said that the man has has been charged and released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date.  

In addition, officers from the Central Initiative Team searched an address under warrant in the north of the city on Wednesday 20th November where a quantity of suspected drugs and money was seized.  

Enquiry is ongoing in relation to this.  

A spokesperson for the force said: “Police Scotland are fully committed to disrupting the supply of drugs across Edinburgh using every tactic available to remove illegal substances from our streets.  

“Information on this can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
