The funeral of comedian Janey Godley will take place in Glasgow on Saturday but today it was time to say farewell to Edinburgh which she regarded as her second home.

Soundhouse Choir otherwise ‘BIG JEANETTE & AW THE SANDRAS’ sang for Janey outside St Giles’ today.

A crowd of a few hundred people gathered to say their farewells to someone who one lady said to us “felt like someone you knew”.

The choir sang Amazing Grace, followed by Elbow’s One Day Like This.

Everyone had been asked to wear bright colours.
