Bright Sparks SCIO, a registered charity based in King George V Park, Bonnyrigg and offering play opportunities for children and young people with additional support needs has won a £500 award from local housebuilder Taylor Wimpey, East of Scotland.

The company recently launched its Community Chest project on social media asking locals to nominate good causes to share in its Community Chest of £1,500.

Some £500 was earmarked for each of its local Midlothian developments to donate to local causes

As well as extensive play resources including soft play, a sensory room, and an extensive outdoor play area, the charity provides a wide variety of clubs and groups for children and young people withadditional needs.

Jennifer Martin, Operations Manager at Bright Sparks in Bonnyrigg said: “We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey and indeed the members of the community who saw the campaign on Facebook and nominated the group. This donation will be put to good use to provide activities for the children who access our service. This support from Taylor Wimpey comes at an important time for us, and it’s great to see their commitment to a variety of local charities and groups across Midlothian.
