The money will be used to provide hooded training tops for the under-16 team.

The company launched their Community Chest project on social media asking locals to nominate good causes to share in its Community Chest of £1,500.

With £500 earmarked for three winners the campaign generated hundreds of nominations.

Penicuik Athletic Youth have been based locally for over 60 years and now have over 350 registered players and 60 volunteers supporting the club. With links to local high schools and the club’s ethos of community enhancement and development, its focus on family remains important to everyone involved.

Jennifer Laurie, Head Coach of the 2016 boys’ team, said: “We would like to thank Taylor Wimpey and indeed the members of the community who saw the campaign on Facebook and nominated the group. Their donation came at a great time for us as we wanted to provide each boy with a club training hoodie.

Kirsty McGill, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Our Community Chest project is a great way to find out more about the groups and organisations that do make a difference to the lives of people living near our developments.”
